Ph.D. Student Salim Stewart Named ATLANTIS KUH Predoctoral Trainee

salimstewartSalim Stewart, a second-year PhD student in Biomedical Sciences at Morehouse School of Medicine (新浪资源), has been named an . His selection includes stipend support, travel funding and training-related expenses. 

Salim conducts research in Dr. Xueying Zhao鈥檚 lab, a Professor of Physiology at 新浪资源, focusing on kidney and liver damage. 

鈥淲hat drives my interest in biomedical research is my curiosity about the specific mechanisms that cause disease or dysfunction, and how those mechanisms can be rectified,鈥 he shared. 

Through the ATLANTIS Program, headquartered at Emory University School of Medicine, Salim will have the opportunity to collaborate with researchers not only across the Atlanta area, but nationwide.  

鈥淚鈥檓 excited to learn more about kidney, urology and hematology from some of the brightest minds in the field,鈥 he said. 

Salim also expressed that this award gives him greater confidence in his work as a researcher in training. 鈥淚t reinforces that my research matters to those impacted by kidney, urology and hematology disorders.鈥 

His appointment reflects 新浪资源鈥檚 mission to advance scientific discovery in support of healthcare access optimization.
